Nikkie Huddart

Nikkie has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She qualified in Integrated Yoga in 2005 and has been teaching ever since. She is further certified in postnatal yoga. Her Yoga Babies classes, which she has been teaching for twelve years since her own children were babies, are based on the relationship between parent and baby, incorporating baby stretches and relaxation, as well as relaxed holding and carrying, inspired by Birthlight baby yoga and Una Dinsmore-Tuli’s teaching at Sitaram Yoga. Nikkie is also qualified to offer baby sleep consultancy and offers this as a bespoke, individual service, as well as running regular sleep clinics.

Nikkie Huddart Yoga Teacher Exeter Devon

Since completing the Yoga Bugs teacher training in 2006, Nikkie has taught children’s yoga in schools, colleges and nurseries across Devon. Kid’s yoga is all about creativity and being flexible as a teacher – in every sense! As a qualified secondary teacher and tutor, she is particularly passionate about working with young adults, to relieve stress and address anxiety-related issues and to encourage a healthy relationship with themselves. She currently teaches yoga and mindfulness to students and staff at Exeter College. She runs sessions for staff in colleges and schools, exploring how to bring yoga and mindfulness techniques into the classroom.

Nikkie has qualified with the Saraswati Yoga Studios to teach meditation and mindfulness.  She has also completed the Michael Stone certificate in teaching meditation with YogaCampus.  She values the deep transformative effect of meditation and its ability to create steadiness in the face of life’s challenges. Following a back injury, Nikkie trained in inversion therapy with Yoga Body and loves hanging upside down.  Her recovery led her to explore free flowing movement and she’s subsequently trained in Prana and Rhythm Flow with Shiva Rea, which she offers as courses and workshops. Nikkie’s teaching is creative and playful, focusing on the relationship between teacher and student to come to an understanding of each student’s needs.  Having been teaching a long time, she feels that the most important aspect of her teaching is in ensuring that she always remains a student, in beginner’s mind, open to learning.
